Wahida Alam

Doctoral Student

Wahida Alam is a doctoral student at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She graduated with a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 2024. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Her research investigates the impact of emerging technologies on traditional journalism practices and the identity of journalists. She focuses on the boundaries of journalism and how the profession adapts to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Wahida believes that her research contributes to the journalism scholarship and industry by shedding light on how traditional journalism is changing in wake of the disruptions created by emerging technologies and how the industry people are preparing and adapting to the adoption of these technologies.
