AAF: National Student Advertising Competition

NSAC is the premier college-level competition sponsored by the nationally recognized American Advertising Federation (AAF). Each year, 10-12 strategic communication seniors represent the University of Missouri in this annual competition, where students compete with 100+ other universities nationwide. Directed by former strategic communication industry professionals, graduating seniors build a fully-integrated campaign plan for a national client, and they deliver their work through an in-person presentation to a panel of industry judges from nationally recognized advertising agencies, PR firms and corporations. Current and former NSAC clients include the National Football League (NFL), AT&T, Tide, Ocean Spray, Pizza Hut and Indeed.

The University of Missouri’s pitch team has won first place in our District 9 competition six out of the past seven years and has placed among the top three teams nationwide twice in the past seven years.

Additional, specific NSAC wins include:

  • 2023/24 Tide: District 9 first place overall; Nationwide Best Presentation Team + fourth place overall; Addy Awards Best In Show (Kansas City)
  • 2024/25 AT&T: District 9 Best Creative Execution + second place overall
  • 2025/26 NFL: This year’s pitch team is already hard at work building their campaign plans. Stay tuned for results following the April 2026 District 9 competition!
