“A Year Apart,” a memoir based on letters by Murray Olderman, BJ ’43, to his wife from Europe at the end of World War II, is being published by St. Johann Press of New Jersey in March 2013. It is the 15th book for Olderman, a former syndicated columnist and cartoonist.

Peter Dubrowski, BJ ’11, was named editor-in-chief of the New York University Journal of Legislation and Public Policy for the 2013–14 academic year. Dubrowski leads a staff of 90 and will publish four books under his masthead.

Erin Gitau, BJ ’09, has been promoted to account executive at Geile/Leon Marketing Communications in St. Louis. She is responsible for the day-to-day running of agency clients including GreenLight Innovations, Enterprise Truck, Enterprise Fleet Management and XIOLINK.

Lucas Pierson, BJ ’12, is a content copywriter at Geile/Leon Marketing Communications in St. Louis. He is responsible for developing the voice and messaging for all aspects of the agency’s online presence, including website copy, white papers, blog posts, social media messaging and campaign development.

David Thomasson, MA ’79, has published a novel, “The First Impression,” a mystery available from Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions. Thomasson is a freelance writer in Washington, D.C.

Elizabeth “Betty” Sweet Peacock Marsh, BJ ’39, died in January 2013 in Tyler, Texas. Brittany Pieper, BJ ’08, will join KOMU-TV as evening co-anchor on March 4. Pieper comes to KOMU 8 News from KSLA in Shreveport, La., where she is an anchor and reporter covering education. Previously, she worked as a reporter, anchor and producer at KCBD in Lubbock, Texas.
