J-Advising: Special Edition is an exclusive, in-person, half-day experience for admitted incoming J-School students and their families. It offers a unique opportunity to fully immerse in the program and explore J-School resources firsthand. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

J-Advising: Special Edition Dates

  • Friday, May 23, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. OR 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Monday, June 9, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. OR 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. 
    • If you select the June 9 Special Edition, we encourage you to register for the Mizzou Summer Welcome session on June 10 if you plan to stay overnight. Please note that registering for the June 9 Special Edition will replace the standard in-person J-Advising session on June 11.

How to register for Summer Welcome J-Advising: Special Edition

  1. Confirm registration for Mizzou Summer Welcome
  2. Complete the registration form, selecting your preferred date for Summer Welcome J-Advising: Special Edition
  3. Check your email for a confirmation of your registration.
  4. Regularly monitor your Mizzou email for updates from Jouranlism Student Services with details about your J-Advising: Special Edition session.

Planning for a Standard Advising Session (in-person or virtual)? No additional registration is necessary. Your standard J-Advising session will be automatically scheduled to align with your Mizzou Summer Welcome date and modality. 

For exampl,e, if you register for Mizzou Summer Welcome on Sunday, June 22, your advising appointment will be Monday morning on campus.
