Kelly McBride, BJ ’88, vice president of The Poynter Institute and one of the country’s leading voices on media ethics, has been named a member of Poynter’s Board of Trustees. McBride has been on Poynter faculty since 2002 and was named vice president in 2014.

Charles A. “Chas” Looney Jr., BJ ’40, died Dec. 4, 2016. During his career, he served in the military, worked in a family-owned winery, farmed and formed his namesake advertising agency. Looney was active in community affairs and was a life member of the Mizzou Alumni Association.

William “Bill” Shores, BJ ’51, of Greenwood, Indiana, died on Aug. 8, 2016. He served in the United States Navy and retired from a long career with the Indianapolis Star Newspaper.
Betty Boylan Brown, BJ ’40
Betty Boylan Brown, BJ ’40, of Rockville, Maryland, died Nov. 4, 2016, at age 98. She was director of public relations for the National College of Education and later worked for the National Bureau of Standards Laboratories in Boulder, Colorado.
