Woodward Joins Photojournalism Faculty at Missouri School of Journalism
Columbia, Mo. (Feb. 8, 2007) — The Missouri School of Journalism welcomed one new faculty member to campus at the beginning of the winter 2007 semester.
Rie Woodward, MA ’99, has joined the School’s photojournalism faculty as an assistant professor and will serve as director of photography for the Columbia Missourian, a community newspaper that also functions a working laboratory for Missouri Journalism students.
Woodward previously was a photography editor and photographer for The New York Times and The New York Times on the Web. In addition, she was a teaching professional at New York University‘s Department of Journalism and the International Center of Photography in New York.
“Rie Woodward brings a tremendous enthusiasm for photojournalism – whether it be on the printed page or on the Web,” said David Rees, associate professor and chair of photojournalism. “Her background as photo editor and multimedia producer adds dimension to the faculty, enriching educational opportunities for our students.”
