Columbia, Mo. (June 11, 2012) — Three Missouri School of Journalism students are participating in a Washington Post project aimed at keeping track of campaign issues across swing states while documenting the perspectives of young voters.

“The 12” is a website site powered by Tumblr and will be populated by student journalists at 12 universities in some of the most competitive 2012 election states. Tumblr’s curation tools will help feature election news that matters most to voters in these battleground states and identify campaign issues that have yet to bubble up to the national conscience.

Rob Abel, Ninh Pham and Travis Zimpfer – all studying convergence journalism – will rotate coverage of Missouri issues. Other states that will be covered are Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
