Once you apply and are admitted to the University of Missouri as a journalism major, the School of Journalism provides an automatic merit-based award — Walter Williams Scholars Award — to non-Missouri residents (U.S. citizens). Award details listed below apply to first-time college freshmen entering Fall 2024.

This merit-based award may be combined with other automatic MU Awards and is renewable for up to four years (eight semesters) provided students remain in good academic standing in the School of Journalism. (3.0 cumulative GPA or higher)
