Missouri School of Journalism Receives $864,800 Gift
Columbia, Mo. (Feb. 22, 2005) — The Missouri School of Journalism has received a gift of $864,800 from a graduate of the School.
The monies will be used to enhance strategic communication studies in the Advertising Department.
“We’re very grateful for this extraordinary gift presented by a graduate who has asked to remain anonymous,” said Margaret Duffy, Advertising Department chair. “This generous donation is from an individual whose only motivation is to help students have the very best educational experience and to help us provide the facilities and faculty in support of that goal.”
The gift is the second major donation given to the Advertising Department in the past month. An estimated $2.5 million gift from the estate of Paul Synor, BJ ’42, was announced in late January.
This newest gift is included in the $600 million For All We Call Mizzou campaign, announced in September 2003. The School of Journalism has raised more than $54 million of its $55 million goal to date. The campaign ends December 31, 2005.
