Graduate Studies Dean Earnest Perry Will Lead the Session

Columbia, Mo. (Oct. 6, 2016) — A live information session about the Missouri School of Journalism’s online master’s program will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. (CST), Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Registration can be made through Mizzou Online.Information Session: Online MA Program Oct. 25 Associate Dean for Graduate Studies Earnest Perry will lead the session. Participants can interact directly with Perry during the session.

Now in its 16th year, the School’s online MA program was one of the first online graduate programs in journalism in the world. The program is geared toward professionals with three or more years of professional experience in journalism or a strategic communication-related field.

Online students from all areas of journalism and strategic communication are currently enrolled, including those working in newsrooms, broadcast stations, the armed forces and advertising agencies. Online MA alumni include industry executives, innovators and educators. Most students complete the program in 3-to-4 years.

The online MA offers four areas of study.

Health Communication
Ideal for individuals in health sciences, health care facility administration and communication who want more knowledge about health topics and communication practices.

Interactive Media
Created to help media professionals understand how people perceive and process the messages they encounter and share in interactive, digital and social media.

Media Management
The right program emphasis for journalists, public relations practitioners and advertising professionals who want to move into management positions.

Strategic Communication
Designed for professionals in advertising, marketing, communication and public relations who wish to accomplish organizational or client goals.

The School also offers a two-year campus-based master’s program and a doctoral program.
