Columbia, Mo. (Nov. 15, 2016) — Missouri School of Journalism senior Jalen Mosby is one of the American Advertising Federation‘s 50 Most Promising Multicultural Students for 2016. The program promotes diversity in the workplace and helps connect the advertising industry recruit the nation’s top multicultural college seniors.
Mosby will fly to New York City on Feb. 13 to participate in networking, interviewing and industry immersion opportunities.
“Everyone I have met who has done the program is successful in their career and having a ball figuring out where they belong in the industry,” Mosby said. “I’m sure it will provide me with opportunities I have never thought I would get.”
Mosby is focusing his studies on account management. He was selected for the American Association for Advertising Agencies‘ 2016 Multicultural Advertising Internship Program and served as an account management intern at DigitasLBi in Atlanta during the summer of 2016.
Assistant Professor Brad Best said that Mosby has a great amount of talent to lend to the industry.
“Jalen’s positive, can-do attitude is infectious,” Best said. “He backs that up with a great work ethic, intellectual curiosity and a willingness to help others that is second to none.”
Mosby said the honor has inspired him to keep going and do more. “It has given me the reassurance that I’m doing something right and can compete with other extraordinary students around the country.”
