Columbia, Mo. (Jan. 20, 2016) — Top agency professionals from Los Angeles and St. Louis will share information about the search for jobs and internships, the application process and salary negotiation at an upcoming event in preparation for the annual Strategic Communication Career Fair. “Are You Ready? Q&A” will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, in Fisher Auditorium at the Missouri School of Journalism.
The workshop will be hosted by MOJO Ad, a student-staffed advertising agency that focuses on the YAYA (Youth and Young Adult, 18-24) market. The 8th annual Strategic Communication Career Fair will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11.
Panelists from 72andSunny, Group360 WORLDWIDE and Brado Creative Insight will share information about the creative and account management and strategy areas. They will give attendees a variety of opinions as to what employers are looking for in their applicants.
“The goal of this event is to provide students with honest advice and detailed expectations as they begin applying for jobs,” said Maria Martinez, manager of the career fair. “This is an important part of our students’ job and internship search process.”
The open forum encourages students to be able to learn from the panelists’ experiences in the workforce and ask any questions they might have as they begin the job-hunt process.
The Q&A is one of three workshop events that students can choose to attend when registering for the career fair.
“Our students are highly-motivated and want to make sure they are ready to land a dream job or internship,” said Assistant Professor Jamie Flink, who directs the MOJO Ad students. “Events like the ‘Are You Ready? Q&A’ help ensure our students are knowledgeable, confident and prepared.”
All the events leading up to the Strategic Communication Career Fair are planned and executed by MOJO Ad and its public relations team. MOJO Ad serves national paying clients, which have included Purina and Enterprise CarShare.
