School Welcomes New Faculty Members, Announces Promotions

Columbia, Mo. (Aug. 18, 2017) — The Missouri School of Journalism welcomes eight new faculty members and announces promotions for five others for the 2017-18 academic year.

Those promoted to the academic rank of professor are Cynthia Frisby, a member of the strategic communication faculty, and Stacey Woelfel, a member of the radio-television journalism faculty. Strategic communication faculty members Brad Best, Jamie Flink and Holly Higginbotham were all promoted to the academic rank of associate professor. The promotions are effective Sept. 1.

The new faculty are:

Heather Akin, Brad Best, Jamie Flink, Cynthia Frisby, Holly Higginbotham, Mike Kearney, Ron Kelley, Monique Luisi, Jeanette Porter, Ebony Reed, Sara Shahriari, Ron Stodghill, Stacey Woelfel
