TOM WARHOVER is an associate professor at the Missouri School of Journalism and Editor-at-Large for the Reynolds Journalism Institute. From 2001 to 2017, Warhover was also executive editor of the Columbia Missourian, a community newspaper managed by professionals and staffed by students. He was chair of the Print and Digital News faculty from 2006 to 2017.

Prior to joining the university, he worked for The Virginian-Pilot, a newspaper serving southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. He was a copy editor, designer, wire editor, metro editor and beat reporter. He helped the paper create principles and daily practices for the then-fledgling concept of public (or civic) journalism. He helped guide long-term newsroom strategies as deputy managing editor and fiscal fortunes as the North Carolina general manager.

He co-authored a journalism textbook, Getting the Whole Story: Reporting and Writing the News.
